WHO WE ARE
St. Peter's by the Sea Methodist Church formed in 1971
with the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ
for the transformation of the world,
as well as being the hands and feet of Jesus locally
and being a beacon of love, light, & hope for our community.

We worship each Sunday @ 10:00 a.m. with praise and prayer.
Breakout class is available for school aged children.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe God is the Maker and Creator of everything, including you and me.
We believe God is revealed in Three Persons of the Holy Trinity; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, born to a virgin named Mary. We believe Jesus lived a sinless life of ministry and service and poured out his life on the cross to die for the forgiveness of sin. We believe that Jesus came back to life, in body and spirit, three days after He was crucified. His resurrection proved His power over physical death, and lets us know that His promise of eternal life is true.

We believe the Holy Spirit is how God manifests Himself in the world today. The Holy Spirit is ever present and advocates for us.

We believe that the Holy Bible is the infallible word of God written by the fallible hand of humanity. Even so, we believe that Holy Scripture is inspired by God and contains no error or contradiction as it tells God’s history to His people, and shows us how to live a life that is pleasing to Him.

We believe the Church is the embodiment of Jesus Christ called to witness and serve everyone we meet. Our task is to live out our faith through our interactions with those around us, inspiring them to be in right relationship with God in Jesus Christ.

We believe that sin has separated us from God, but that God has provided the means of grace by which we may be restored – through Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice. The only thing that can restore our relationship with God is to repent of and confess our sin to God and ask for His forgiveness, by putting our faith in Jesus.
We believe that there are two sacraments that Jesus practiced during His ministry here on earth. These two sacraments are Baptism, and The Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion). Baptism and Communion are both signs of God’s grace. We believe that we are drawn to God, restored by God, and made more like God through His undeserved, unmerited love that we call grace.

We believe God has given each of us free will. We do not feel that God created some of humanity to respond to him while others have no hope of knowing him at all. We believe that Christ’s death for the sins of humanity was once-for-all.
